St. Nicholas Church, Popasna, Luhansk oblast

According to the report from the press service of the Sievierodonetsk Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on April 6, 2022, as a result of shelling, which occurred no later than April 6, 2022 (exact date of damage is unknown), the facade of the St. Nicholas Church was damaged. The windows were also damaged, and the roof was completely destroyed.

After a second shelling on June 24, 2022, the church was damaged again. In fact, after the second shelling, the church is in a dilapidated state.

The construction of the church began in 1907, and the first service took place in 1909. In 1961, the church was closed and only reopened with the liberalization of the state's religious policy in 1989.
