In March 2022 (the exact date is unknown), the Ascension Church was damaged as a result of military operations in the city of Trostyanets, Sumy oblast. According to the information provided by the archpriest Heorhiy Taraban, secretary of the Sumy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP), the windows in the church were partially broken and the interior paintings were damaged by fragments of glass.
