On March 26, 2022, as a result of the shelling of the village of Verkhnotoretske in Donetsk region, the church of St. Dimitry of Thessalonica was destroyed. This was reported by the press service of the Donetsk diocese of the UOC (MP). The reel was destroyed by targeted fire, and the roof and walls of the church were significantly damaged. St. Dmitry Church was built in 1850-1861 and is an architectural monument of local importance.
