The Church in Honor of the Pochaiv Icon of Mother of God in the city of Bucha, Kyiv region, was founded in 2004. In 2012, the construction of the brick church began, and on November 1, 2019, the church was consecrated by Bishop Tikhon of Gostomel. In the very first days of the war, on February 24 or 25, 2022 (exact date is unknown) the church was shelled. The shrapnel damaged the facades of the building and the church cupolas, windows were blown out. A chapel near the temple was also struck by numerous shrapnel. After the russian army entrenched in Bucha in March 2022, the territory of the Church was taken over by russian forces, who stationed their staff there. On March 31, 2022, Bucha was liberated, and starting April 2022 the church services were restored.
