For the first time, the temple was damaged by Russian artillery fire prior to May 15, 2022 (the exact date is unknown), as reported by Channel 24. About the second damage to the church, which happened on October 9, 2022, the Synodal Information and Educational Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church writes: "The church dean, Archpriest Anatoly Fesenko, reported that the bell tower was mainly damaged: the floor slabs of the site collapsed, the fences of the bell tower were damaged. The priest also said that the church is constantly under fire, as a result of which windows were blown out, doors were destroyed, icons, trees on the church territory were affected, the church fence was damaged, and a church car was fired upon. It is noted that despite the danger to life, the parishioners come and help repair the destruction and restore order. The temple was founded in 1873 and built within three years. During the Bolshevik anti-religious campaigns of the 1930s, the church was almost completely destroyed. Religious life in the community began to revive only during the Nazi occupation, after which the church has remained functioning.
