In the first days of the war, the Church of Saint Andrew the First-Called underwent destruction on the territory of the 5th Slobozhansk brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine in the city of Kharkiv. The facades, windows, roof and interiors were damaged sufficiently. The building of St. Andrew's Church is a monument of architecture and urban planning of local significance. This congregation was the first at the National Guard of Ukraine. The Church was consecrated in honour of Andrew the Apostle in 2013. On September 29, 2022, Metropolitan Epiphany, the Primate of the OCU, visited the damaged military temple.
