On July 28, 2022, during the missile attack on the city of Mykolaiv, minor damage was caused to the Church of St. Martyr Catherine, which is located near the National Shipbuilding University. As reported on the website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the rocket hit the water station of the university, but the church's windows were blown out by the blast wave.
