In March 2022, the Church of St. Nicholas and the Transfiguration of the Lord in Irpin city, Kyiv Oblast, was damaged. The facades of the church and the church fence bear traces of numerous shrapnel impacts. The church's rector, Volodymyr Bormashev, was injured by an enemy mine explosion during the evacuation from Irpin on March 23, 2022, and died in one of the Kyiv hospitals on March 28.
