On March 31, 2022, the Church of the Dormition in the village of Novy Bykiv, Chernihiv region, was destroyed. At that time, the territory was under Russian occupation. According to the Nizhyn Diocese of the UOC, as a result of projectiles hitting the church, the roof in the altar part was destroyed, and the church fence was damaged. In the church, all the windows were destroyed, the doors, the facade and the interior of the building were damaged.
The church was built in 1801–1804 by the order of Hetman Kirill Razumovski.
