In the first half of March 2022, the church of St. Dmitry of Thessalonica in the city of Bucha, Kyiv region, was hit by artillery fire. The facades of the building were cut by shrapnel, the windows were broken, and there were traces of explosions on the asphalt near the church. At the time of the shelling, the parish belonged to UOC (MP), after the de-occupation of Bucha (end of March 2022), it transferred to OCU.
