On March 24, 2022, as a result of shelling in Avdiivka, the Church of St. Equal-to-Apostles Mary Magdalene was damaged. The church building and the adjacent territory were damaged by shelling and shell explosions. As a result, there is destruction caused to the facades, windows and window panes, dome and porch of the church. The adjacent chapels of the church sustained damage as well. The church was built during 2003-2007.
