During the spring of 2022 (exact date unknown), Holy Dormition Church in Mariupol was destroyed due to shelling and intense military operations in the city. Photos shared on the Church's Facebook page reveal extensive damage not only to the church itself but also to the bell tower and the surrounding premises. Only weathered facades adorned with shelled icons remain from the original structure of the church. Holy Dormition Church was constructed in 1989.
