Islamic Cultural Center "Al-Qadar", Bakhmut, Donetsk oblast
On the evening of May 15, 2022, the Islamic Cultural Center (ICC) "Al-Qadar" in the city of Bakhmut, which housed, in particular, the mosque, came under fire. The ICC was under construction, which lasted more than two years. Only in December 2021 the dome was installed on the ICC building. At least one missile hit the roof of the mosque, and hits on the mosque territory were also recorded. As a result of the shelling, the roof, internal premises were significantly damaged, windows and doors were broken, the building walls were cut by debris, the fence around the ICC and the wooden utility room on the territory were partially destroyed. The head of the Muslim community in Bakhmut, Alan Karibov, reported on the shelling on the mosque. He also stated that this was the second time the mosque had come under fire – earlier it was damaged by the debris from a missile hitting a nearby dormitory, as a result of which the fence and the drainage system were damaged.
