On May 9, 2022, around 9 a.m., a mine exploded directly in the center of the territory of the Skete between two temples. As a result, houses were damaged, their windows were mostly shattered, and the facades of churches were damaged from debris. The bell on the bell tower was pierced by a splinter. On May 16, 2022, two shells hit the greenhouse and the church stokehold, the three-story brick building was seriously damaged. The buildings of the skete, especially those of a non-capital nature, were also damaged. The most powerful explosion on skete territory occurred on the night of May 17-18, 2022. Then the Annunciation Church was completely destroyed. In the morning, parts of the rocket were discovered on the territory. Bells lay on the ground, in a pile of broken brick walls. Only the western and southern walls survived. The armored front door was outside the skete, across the road. The small church in honor of the icon "Joy of All Sorrowful" was preserved, but the doors and windows were knocked out by the blast wave. There were no visible damage to the iconostasis. This is reported on the official website of the Holy Dormition Svyatohorsk Lavra. On September 11, 2022, the village of Bogorodychne was liberated by Ukrainian troops. Military journalist Oleksiy Kashporovskyi visited the village after de-occupation and interviewed two local residents who were the only ones who remained and survived in the village. As for the skete, according to local residents, Russian troops were stationed on the territory of the monastery and stored ammunition there. After themselves, the occupiers left piles of feces in the churches. It is also known that they stole icons and valuable objects.
