"On March 7, in the village of Zavorychi, Brovary district, Kyiv region, as a result of shelling, St. George's Church of the Boryspil eparchy of the UOC MP burned down, - a newly discovered cultural heritage site/object/monument that was built in 1873. The Church of St. George was destroyed by an artillery strike of the Russian military. The fire was caused by a direct hit of the shell in the dome of the church, the fence of the church was shot from a machine gun. "Our parishioners said that they saw with their own eyes that when a part of them [Russian soldiers] were moving, they were firing at houses, and one shell was directed straight to the dome of the church, which was to the left of their movement. That's how they shielded themselves. The fence of the church was shelled from a machine gun. Thank God that no one was there," the rector of the church, Protopriest Petro Kotyuk, conveyed the words of eyewitnesses. In April 2022, construction of a new church began on the site of the destroyed church by the efforts of local residents."
