St. Nicholas Church, Semerenky, Sumy oblast
In March 2022 (the exact date is unknown) as a result of military operations in the village of Semerenky, Sumy oblast, the ancient brick St. Nicholas Church was damaged. Historians agree that the church was built in 1800, but according to the Sumy Diocese of the UOC (MP), the church was built in 1838. St. Nicholas Church is an architectural monument of local importance. According to the archpriest Heorhiy Taraban, secretary of the Sumy Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP), the walls of the church were cut by bullets and shrapnel, the central dome and central drum were destroyed, and the roof was pierced. The panes in almost all the windows were broken. The entrance gate is damaged.
